Germany
The place I was born is a small village in the country, close to Berlin. It is so small, that there is no hospital, therefore my mother was taken to the next town, which is called Oranienburg. This town is known for its concentration camp, but as I moved away from this area at the age of four, I have never visited it.
The village I was brought up in during the first years has nothing spectacular to offer. It was the prettiest place on earth when I lived there with my family, because I have all those sweet childhood memories of that place: the large forest, the lakes, a big garden behind the house, people knowing each other by name, the family living close by. In my opinion, a small town is the best place for children to grow up. But yet, this is about recommending a place and I must confess that I would prefer to recommend you the next bigger city, which is Berlin. My grandparents lived in Berlin, so in some way, its my "hometown" also. As our mate Stephanie already explained: Berlin is great and definitely worth a visit, because of its diversity and historical background. There are several places you can still feel Berlin's past in. They really care about its importance in the German history.
I am looking forward to going to Berlin this summer, so how knwos, maybe we meet there.
